You'd probably be looking at a garter snake then. They eat insects and fish no problems and they don't get very large, a few feet at most.





The only problem with them is they're pretty wild and don't like to be held. They're also very good at getting out of heir tank, I know the local PetCo always has a few on the loose whenever I go into the store because they slip out at feeding times or if someone didn't put the lid on the tank securely.
Ok so an Eastern Ribbon Snake .... and here is MS they sell some at my local pet shop. They are semi aquatic and stay small. Look at the link I posted.

you can train your snake to eat raw chicken necks ( my friend did) just be careful not to make it too big, so as not to choke the snake, and remember to clean your hands thouroughly!!!
there's a type of snake that's jst too small to eat mice, so I think it eats bugs (or baby mice...). I think it's called the blind snake.

no all snakes are carnivores so they have to eat mice or rats or something like that if your not OK with that then i would recommend to got a lizard and feed them crickets
