They will store it and eat it later.Better to buy block bait for rodents. Sometimes mice or rats will drop(The Pellets) off in your pets dishes and take the pet food leaving the bait for your pets to eat and then you have a bigger problem.With block bait they have to eat it when they find it.Has any one heard of mice storing decon poison?
all rodents hoard food for a rainy day,they think poison is food,soon they will eat it so don't worry..........tom
