Does it gross you out that the FDA allows mice hair and feces, and insects and larvae in our food?

http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/dalbook.ht鈥?/a>

30 aphids or mites per 100 grams of asparagus?

50 grams of insect parts for every 50 grams of peanut butter?

10 or more fly eggs for every 50 grams of tomatoes??

ewwwwwwDoes it gross you out that the FDA allows mice hair and feces, and insects and larvae in our food?
that is disgusting!!!!!!!!!! ewwwwww!!!!!!!!!!Does it gross you out that the FDA allows mice hair and feces, and insects and larvae in our food?
Yeah, it's gross if you think about it too much, but it's also understandable in this day and age. Everything is so large scale, and most of it is automated, so things getting into food isn't uncommon. Even if you were growing your own food, and being completely self sufficient, you'd still probably end up with a few stray things in your food. It's not nice to think about, but it's a fact of life. Besides, it helps build up your immune system.
You need to check your source again. peanut butter is not half insects and half peanut butter.

I have traveled the world over and eaten things that you would vomit to think you had to or enjoyed eating them. I even went looking for the local foods. Yes including insects, rats, bats, dog, cat, donkey, horse, kangaroo, and my list is endless. If the people of another country can eat it so can I and say thank you when finished!

Please keep in mind that due to industrial processing things of this nature would be next to impossible to eliminate. Even organic and fresh foods contain insects that we miss in processing for ourselves.

Plus, if you could find food that didn't have these insects and larva in them, could you afford them?

As someone previously mentioned, enjoy the extra protein. It is cooked and sterilized, so you won't have any problems with it. So eat and enjoy! Some of the best foods I have ever prepared was around a campfire. Ashes, bugs, etc. makes it taste much better.

Do you eat bread, drink anything with alcohol including wine? Well if you do then remember the gas that all that bacteria produce is them farting and pooping in your food!
Those things are not in my food. I do not eat processed food, unless I am the one who has processed it. I buy only whole food and then I do as I will with it. If I want to throw in mouse hairs, I can (No, I do not want to do that). Whatever I do to the food, I know what is in it. This is one reason I am loathe to eat out, or eat in other people's homes. Even my own home is dangerous - my roommate uses store-bought mixes to make everything. Mixes = sugar and chemicals.

It is hard to tell her I don't want to eat her food, but I must, even if it is delicious Japanese food.
As I've told you all of the other times you've cut and pasted this nonsense, no it doesn't gross me out and your link doesn't say any of things you're claiming.

You do realize you're claiming that peanut butter is 50% insect parts and 50% peanut butter?
Nearly as bad as the faeces dead insects, dust and hair that is part and parcel of all vegetables. You don't want chemical fertilisers, so they use faeces in organic produce. Often chicken, horse and cow crap. The best of all being worm crap - that is in high demand.

Next?
Yeah! that completely grosses me out....but there is really not much of a way to avoid it.... you can't be paranoid about minuscule things like that...besides..its not like those things are poisonous..its just extra protein haha. but yes...very gross!
yes. It is gross, but not harmful.

A lot of that stuff is unavoidable. GO organic if it really bothers you.
Yea it does, but their is also traces in rice and in cereal
Thats bad I guess. I've never found a bug in my salad though so I'm ok.

Ellsie
