Personally, I enjoyed ';Grapes of Wrath'; more, although that's just me. If you're deciding which to read, go with both; neither is too long. Steinbeck had a unique writing technique. He wrote to project a theme, and if you enjoyed his writing you should be looking for authors that did the same. Try the classics such as ';Uncle Tom's Cabin'; and ';To Kill a Mockingbird';.The grapes of wrath or of mice and men?
They were both excellent but I think I liked Grapes of Wrath more because I became so involved with the plight of the characters. His portrayal of the depression and what it did to people was incredible.





The second part of your question is interesting. Hemingway wrote a variety of novels mixing history with fiction and writing characters the reader can get involved with.
i read of mice and men back in highschool and it got stuck to me its really good and the movie is good too. the original black and white movie.
I think I liked Of Mice and Men better as I was reading it.


But when I think of the entire story, The Grapes of Wrath was good.
